1. BSNL- Road Ahead

Abstract : Liberalization has brought many challenges for the Government of India enterprise in Telecom Sector i.e. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). BSNL known as Department of Telecommunications had been a near-monopoly during the socialist period of the Indian economy. During this period, BSNL was the only telecom service provider in the country. In spite of owning extensive and robust network across India and having leadership position in the telecom space till 2008, the present situation has become tough for state owned operator BSNL. Now BSNL is struggling to maintain the tempo and its foothold in the industry. Over a few past years the company’s position is being deteriorated. BSNL‟s market share in 16 out of 22 circles not by a significant margin due to poor performances over past two to three years. In August 2010, more than 2 lakh BSNL land line subscribers got their lines disconnected. While a good many mobile subscribers are also shifting to other service providers because of many reasons. The market has opened up for telecom services and every company is struggling to capture maximum share of the growing market. Different strategies are being formulated to ensure the growth in customer base. In this paper, we have carved out a comprehensive study pertaining Indian Telecom market and position of BSNL in the Indian Telecom sector.

2. AN ADAPTIVE WSN CLUSTERING SCHEME USING LION OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM TO MAINTAIN COVERAGE AREA IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK

Abstract : Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are composed of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes in order to detect and transmit information from its surrounding environment. The sensor nodes have limited computation capability, limited power and small memory size. In these networks, sensor nodes are dependent on low power batteries to provide their energy. As energy is a challenging issue in these networks, clustering models are used to overcome this problem. Hence, many metaheuristic algorithms have been developed over the last years. Many of these algorithms are inspired by various phenomena of nature. In this paper, a new population based algorithm, the Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA), is introduced. Special lifestyle of lions and their cooperation characteristics has been the basic motivation for development of this optimization algorithm. Some benchmark problems are selected from the literature, and the solution of the proposed algorithm has been compared with those of some well-known and newest meta-heuristics for these problems. The obtained results confirm the high performance of the proposed algorithm in comparison to the other algorithms used in this paper.

3. SMART ATTENDANCE SYSTEM USING RASPBERRY PI AND ULTRASONIC SENSOR

Abstract : In recent times, the traditional time consuming chalk and board class room teaching methodology are transformed into smart classroom teaching which involves digital devices such as laptops, projectors, speakers and more. These de- vices improve the interaction between teachers and students, but the cost is a major factor that still restricts most of the institutions to adopt digital technology. Also, the con- ventional attendance taking system requires involvement of teachers and be present at the laptop to navigate through the slides for which a significant amount of time is lost from the allotted time slot. The main objective of this paper is to design and implements a cost effective technology-aided system which enhances the quality of service teaching by effectively utilizes the teaching time. The proposed system consist of four modules smart projector with PowerPoint Presentations(PPT) upload and download feature, gesturebased PPT control, smart attendance system and Google voice assistance system. All these modules are implemented on a low cost single controller platform using Raspberry Pi. The smart projector module is aimed to substitute laptops with Raspberry Pi which will not only reduce the cost in- volved, but also will help achieving quality of service as the system will consume a smaller amount of power. The second module consists of ultrasonic sensor interfaced with Rasp- berry Pi to control the PPT displayed in projector using hand gesture action based on the distance. The third mod- ule is to automate the student attendance using biometric system. This system consists of Finger print sensor attached to the Raspberry Pi to record the student presence. The fourth module allows faculty to search the internet verbally without the need for typing the query in a web browser by adding the Google voice Assistant to the Raspberry Pi. By integrating these entire four modules in a single microcon- troller platform (Raspberry Pi) we may reduce the cost and improve the quality of service in an effective way.

4. MULTIMODAL BIOMETRIC FACE AND FINGERPRINT RECOGNITION USING K-NEAREST NEIGHBOR ALGORITHM

Abstract : Biometrics is the science and machinery of measuring and analyzing biological data of human carcass. It extracts a feature set from the acquired data, and comparing with template set in the database. In this paper we have introduced a new concept for face & fingerprint recognition by means of K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm and feed forward back propagation method by using their approach it improves the accuracy gives better performance and more reliable in terms of security and integrity of the biometric data. This approach is developed by coming ridge based & Eigen face approach. The main of their research work is to reduce the false accept rate (FAR), false reject  rate (FRR) and false enroll rate (FER). After executing their loom we have compared the result of unimodal biometric system & multimodal biometric system. From the effect we observed that unimodal system has many disadvantages in terms performance and accuracy. Whereas multimodal biometric system performs for better them unimodal biometric system.

5. FOOD GRAIN STORAGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING NANO TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract : Agriculture is the backbone of any nation’s economy and there is a dependency between agricultural growth and economic prosperity. As India is an Agriculture country where 70% of the population depends on farming, the storage of grains plays a crucial role in national economy. Due to the seasonality of grain production, the storage of grain is the top priority task for restoring and reusing. In the process of grain storage, temperature and humidity are major environmental factors that can influence directly on the quality of the Grain. Hence, there is a necessity to monitor the vital parameters continuously during storage and communicate the status to the manger in real time which becomes challenging. The traditional methods are limited to simple manual temperature and humidity testing which are relatively backward since grain situation analysis are made without any effective means of processing and regulation hence there is a need for smart grain management system with automation which can also avoid hidden security risks. The Real-time monitoring of the grain storage system is designed based on ARDUINO and using GSM module as the lower level Control unit which improves the level of grains storage and reduces the grain losses during storage procedure and also reduces manpower and labor intensity. The Experimental results show that grain condition intelligent monitoring system designed in this paper has several good features such as real-time online detection, easy acquisition, and good site stability.

6. HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM USING LoRaWAN (NodeMCU)

Abstract : Health has prime importance in our day-to-day life. Sound health is necessary to do the daily work properly. This project aims at developing a system which gives body temperature and heart rate using LM35 and pulse sensor respectively. These sensors are interfaced with controller Arduino uno board. Wireless data transmission done by Arduino through NodeMCU module. NodeMCU (LoRaWAN) is used for wireless data transmission on IoT platform i.e. thing speak. Data visualization is done on Thing speak. So that record of data can be stored over period of time .This data stored on web server so that it can seen to who logged.

7. PERFORMANCE OF QUASI CONSTANT ENVELOPE OFDM WITH SIGNAL COMPARISON OF QPSK, 16QAM AND 64QAM

Abstract : The is a technology in broadband wireless  access,  which  employs  OFDM  (Orthogonal  Frequency  Division  Multiplexing)  as  an  alternative  transmission  to  enable  high  speed  data   in communication system. This research aim is to analyze the performance system of the OFDM-Based QUASI, which used the cyclic prefix. The model was designed        in four schemes of simulation method, the BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying, QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying), 16 QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) and 64 QAM. Each scheme was investigated BER (Bit Error Rate) on AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise) channel and multipath Rayleigh fading  channel,  which  had applied the cyclic prefix. By simulation of the cyclic prefix was produced the modulation measurement of the BPSK, QPSK, 16 and 64 QAM. The performance result of Eb/No    15 dB was obtained the BER of BPSK and QPSK of 1.11E-11, the BER of 16 QAM and 64 QAM of 8.69E-06 and 0.00333 respectively. Those results indicated much smaller BER value than EbNo 0 dB which BPSK and QPSK of 1 BER, 1.5 and 1.75  BER for 16 QAM  and 64 QAM respectively. In conclusion, a higher value of EbNo, hence the BER value would be lower.

8. LOW POWER ALU DESIGN BY 32 BIT MULTIPLIER VEDIC MULTIPLIER

Abstract : This paper presents Multiply and Accumulate (MAC) unit design using Vedic Multiplier, which is based on Urdhva Tiryagbhyam Sutra. The paper emphasizes an efficient 32-bit MAC architecture along with 8-bit and 16-bit versions and results are presented in comparison with conventional architectures. The efficiency in terms of area and speed of proposed MAC unit architecture is observed through reduced area, low critical delay and low hardware complexity. The proposed MAC unit reduces the area by reducing the number of multiplication and addition in the multiplier unit. Increase in the speed of operation is achieved by the hierarchical nature of the Vedic multiplier unit. The proposed MAC unit is implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) device, 3S100ETQ144-5 (Spartan 3). The performance evolution results in terms of speed and device utilization are compared to earlier MAC architecture. Though the use of Vedic mathematics methods for multiplication is reported in literature, it has been observed that our proposed method of 32-bit MAC unit implementation is using (32X32) multiplication unit and shows improvements in the delay and area.
