1. ARTIFICIAL BEE COLONY OPTIMIZATION BASED COLOR IMAGE COMPRESSION

Abstract : A new compression technique for color images, which is based on the use of colorization methods, has been proposed. In colorization-based coding, the encoder chooses a few representative pixels (RP) for which the chrominance values and the positions are sent to the decoder, whereas in the decoder, the chrominance values for all the pixels are reconstructed by colorization methods. The main contribution of this project is that formulate the Representative pixel (RP) selection problem into an optimization problem, that is, an L1 minimization problem using an Artificial Bee Colony algorithm has to be used to construct the codebook of vector quantization.The proposed method uses initial of ABC algorithm to develop the VQ algorithm.The Pareto set is used to control the behaviour of the individuals and structuring the bee colony.The selection of the RP is optimal with respect to the given colorization matrix in the sense that the difference error between the original color image and the reconstructed color image becomes minimum with respect to the L2 norm error. Furthermore, the number of pixels in the RP set is also minimized by the L1 minimization. For a ?xed error value and a given colorization matrix, the chosen set of RP is the smallest set possible and also propose a method to construct the colorization matrix that colorizes the image in a multiscale manner. This, combined with the proposed RP extraction method, allows us to choose a very small set of RP.

Unlike other computing and information technology degrees, it has opened a new vista for other background students to enter into the field of computing and IT profession. Computer Applications degree holders are widely working in Indian IT industry and doing well. Initially when the program was started in the nineteen-eighties rest part of the world were moved towards a new domain and fields called ‘Information Technology’ with much broader aim and agenda. Gradually MCA programs became popular and several institutions have been started the program with the widely running 3 years degree. Though in recent past many other universities mainly private universities have opened up a new world of MCA program with different duration based on entry level qualifications. 3. A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS BETWEEN PI AND FUZZY FOR MODIFIED SEPIC CONVERTER WITH MAGNETIC COUPLING FOR HIGH STATIC GAIN APPLICATIONS

Abstract : This paper gives a comparative analysis of  modified SEPIC converter with magnetic coupling for high static gain applications by using PI and Fuzzy controllers. For high static gain applications without magnetic coupling cannot be essential. By using magnetic coupling high static gain can be achieved without increasing duty cycle and switch voltage with the help of PI or Fuzyy controllers. And also load regulation can be achieved by using both these controllers. From these controllers Fuzzy is the most advanced method than PI for better load regulation. Simulation result for both these controller shows that both are useful for low input high output applications.

9. MIXED BIT SAVING DICTIONARY SELECTION ALGORITHM FOR CODE COMPRESSION RATIO TO FIELD PROGRAMMABLE GATE ARRAY

Abstract : The aim of this research is to obtain an efficient code compression ratio with less hardware overhead using a multiple lookup table’s access with Index number. It can help to reduce the memory usage in field programmable gate array architecture. Dictionary based compression algorithm is used to design a lookup tables. The large lookup tables are used to compress single instructions and small lookup tables is used to compress the extremely high-frequency instructions. The Tag bits are used to identify whether the code is compressed with direct dictionary access or Bit-mask approach. Mixed bit saving dictionary selection algorithm is used to build a dictionary based on the frequencies of the instructions. Codeword length constrained bitmask code compression is an algorithm used for compressing the code. The decompression engine was designed to retrieve the original instructions. The code compression algorithm is simulated and synthesized in Quartus II 10.0 tool. The code compression ratio is measured for large number of instructions. The Decompression engine is simulated and synthesized in Xilinx 14.2 tool. From the results it was observed that the proposed dictionary based code compression provides high code compression ratio with less overhead of hardware architecture for decompression.

12. HEART RATE VARIABILITY ANALYSIS

Abstract : Heart rate variability signals, derived from an ECG signals strongly related to the activity of the Autonomous Nervous Systems (ANS).  HRV is usually investigated as R-R variability since R wave is far easier to detect due to its peak shape. The classical methods based on auto correlation, there is holds or derivatives, Time domain methods and frequency domain methods give a course quantification of the variability, without distinguishing between short term and long-term fluctuations. In this paper, we propose a new wavelet based methods to analyze heart rate variability (HRV) signals. In time domain analysis, the frequency information is lost. In frequency domain analysis the time information is lost. By using the wavelet translation we get the information in the form of scale. We got both time domain and frequency domain information.

When the statistical independence assumption is correct, blind ICA separation of a mixed signal gives very good results.A simple application of ICA is the "cocktail party problem", where the underlying speech signals separated from a sample data consisting of people talking simultaneously in a room. Usually the problem is cut down by assuming no time delays or echoes. Note that a filtered and delayed signal is a reproduction of a dependent component, and thus the statistical independence statement is not violated.

14. RELATIVE EXPLORATION OF LATERAL STEEL STORAGE TOWER AND REINFORCED CONCRETE

Abstract :  This paper presents a comparison study of relative explorationi of Reinforced Concrete and Steel Silo. The silos are mostly used in agriculture and industries. They carries normal pressures and axial compressive loads due to stored materials together with the self-weight of the super structure. It also carries lateral loads due to wind or seismic forces. A finite elemental software describes the analysis and a study was conducted to compare the behaviour of Reinforced Concrete and Steel silo. From the analysis it was observed that Reinforced Concrete are more useful than Steel silo in industries. Deformations are found to be critical more for Steel silo at the middle portion of the structure than the concrete silo. Non Linear time history analysis were conducted and it shows that steel silo have more displacement and stress than concrete silo. A graph was drawn representing the behaviour of Reinforced Concrete and Steel silo structures with various thicknesses.

16. UTILITY OF BIM ON QUANTITY SURVEYING TECHNIQUE

Abstract :  Building information modeling (BIM) plays an important role in the performance improvement of quantity surveying practice. Quantity surveyors are responsible for the cost management throughout the entire life span of a project from the feasibility and design stages until building completion. It appears that quantity surveyors are still lagging behind in BIM application compared to other professionals. Lack of awareness of the potential of BIM application is the main reason for low adoption of BIM. Quantity surveyors are still unsure of the capability of BIM in their practice. The role of Quantity Surveyors whose building procurement is based on BIM would be revolutionized drastically from the existing role where BIM permits to analyze the building, the structure, materials and performance in real time as it is being designed. Hence, a research is conducted with broader aim of exploring the potential expansions of QS roles, changing key roles and responsibilities of future Quantity Surveyors in a sustainable BIM based project delivery which will help in training Quantity Surveyors to face future challenges. This paper contains the preliminary findings of a literature review conducted on the current key roles and responsibilities of Quantity Surveyors in local building procurement and future expectations in a BIM based project delivery..
